For this reason, stores are opening extra temporary positions in order to meet the unprecedented high demand during these times.


Aldi: Store Assistants and other positions.


Co-op: They aim to take on 5,000 temporary workers. Roles available include filling shelves, sorting online orders and helping vulnerable customers.


HelloFresh: up to 400 open positions to meet demand for food deliveries.


HospitalityAction: If you work in hospitality and need help, their #Covid-19 Grant will be open for applications at 9am on Monday, 23th March.


Lidl: Stock Assistant on a minimum 4 week fixed term contract (see also here).


Morrisons: Home Delivery Drivers and Customer Assistants (see also here).


Ocado: looking for Delivery Drivers.


Oxfordshire County Council: If you are Occupational Therapist or Social Worker and you are looking for a temporary position, send an email to: workforus@oxfordshire.gov.uk.


Pertemps Banbury: Duties will include: moving cages of products, replenishing shelves

m.oving stock around the store. If you are available for work immediately, call 01295 253449 (for other roles, see here).


Tesco: Immediate Start for Customer Assistants and Customer Delivers.



Also Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats are raising staff numbers to cope with extra demand from the coronavirus spread.

The NHS has put a call-out for volunteers to help with the COVID-19 crisis:

New initiative Hero Buddy to help those in need in your local area.


You can also consider to donate dried food, tinned food, and cleaning + hygiene products at Iffley Road Sports Centre from *10am-11am, Monday, 23th March-Friday, 27th March. Donations will be taken to local food banks to be redistributed.



Everyone must practise good hygiene and prevent the virus spreading by wearing gloves, face mask and by keeping a distance of at least 2 metres.
